It's gross, I know.
However, in wearing these skirts, I'm simply reliving something I really wanted when growing up. You'd be surpised how much wearing this skirt can mean to a girl when she's banned from do so all throughout high school. Maybe someday, I'll grow out of them, or maybe I won't.
Details on this look:
Top: Wintersilks
Skirt: An actual HS skirt, haha!
Shoes: ASOS
Choker Necklace: Designed myself :)

this shirt let me remember the times in school!
ReplyDelete1. I love that skirt and the look!
ReplyDelete2. I totally agree about the more inappropriate interpretations of the schoolgirl outfit and women/girls staying away from it to avoid the unwanted sexual innuendos. I went to Catholic school too and wore a skirt (albeit, it had to comply with certain lengths) and got approached several times by grown men commenting on it. It completely traumatized me. I wasn't 10 years old, but I was a young teen. At the end of the day it's not really about a skirt, but it's that association that always bothered me. Thanks pervs. lol :(

Rachel can turn a a basket of washcloth into a stylish dress. I like how the schoolgirl stereotype is turned into something flirty and cute just because it is a longer skirt.
ReplyDeleteThanks Nat!
ReplyDeleteHopefully someone day, the "sexy schoolgirl" trope will laid to rest!
( Get well soon :) )
