Thrifty Thursdays: Review of Lepoint Value, Williamsburg.

Welcome back for another Thrifty Thursday!

Today's review is on Lepoint Value, Williamsburg location.

Lepointe-Williamsburg1

I chose this particular store for a few reasons;

1. Lepoint Value is a true, bare bones, no frills thrift store. It's not carefully curated and put together according to decades, and they're not catering to a particular subset of people. Lepoint Value in essence is what thrift stores were back in the day, before the frills and fun of the more modern "vintage" thrift shops.

2. With barely anything over $15, and in great quality, Lepoint Value is a major go-to for anyone looking for cheap & quality.

I’m reviewing Lepoint Value based on 5 categories with two stars for each; Staff/Atmosphere, Variety, Uniqueness, Prices and Quality.

Staff/Atmosphere: ðŸŒŸ

From the outside of the store alone, it becomes a bit obvious that the atmosphere of this store isn't too great. Lepoint Value is an absolute, "no-frill" thrift store and a funky and fancy atmosphere is simply not priority for them. The staff is alright. They're generally nice, but can seem standoffish and awfully suspicious of people(which I understand because of theft). From my experience with Lepoint Value, most of their staff tends to be Hispanic and many of them do not speak fluent English. Therefore, this is not a store you should go to if you'll need help shopping and finding items because odds are, you will not be able to get the appropriate help.

However, despite all of these shortcomings, the store does hit a strong point when it comes to cleanliness and organization. There isn't any random clutter and all the merchandise is laid out in a manner that makes it very easy to see and shop through.

Variety: ðŸŒŸðŸŒŸ

Oh, the possibilities! Lepoint is chock full of variety, from baby clothes to adult clothing and even belts and ties. They carry something for everyone of any age or size in the family. Most thrift stores, especially more modern ones don't carry baby clothing, and therefore it's nice to see a thrift store that does carry it. What really makes Lepoint Value special is their shoe collection. They have tons and tons of shoes, from boots to sandals to loafers and even high heels. Thrift shopping for shoes can be absolutely pain-staking because most stores(especially those within the price range of Lepoint Value) either have a small section or a large section full of crap.

Uniqueness: ðŸŒŸ

Lepoint Value carries the basics. For example, if you need a good pair of jeans, go to Lepoint. If you're looking for some super vintage Levis x UNIF collab jean, do not go to Lepoint. Coming across very unique pieces at Lepoint really isn't guaranteed because their inventory is geared to bringing quality pieces, and not very unique pieces. However, if you're willing to do a bit of searching, you can find some absolute GEMS in this store. I found a pair of vintage 6-eye Doc Martens for $10. Mind you, it was a pair of docs I had seen in a few other thrift stores for 4 times that price.

If you're patient, you can definitely score one-of-a-kind pieces at Lepoint Value. Patience is key.

Prices: ðŸŒŸðŸŒŸ

I wish I could give  5 stars to Lepoint because their prices are amazing! The most expensive thing in this store is about $15. I found Vintage Docs for $10 and many, many of the designer items especially designer shoes were no more than $10-15. Most articles of clothing hovered around $2-10 depending on the pieces and sales, their accessories are generally about $1 and they don't charge tax, shawty!Their prices are extremely, extremely appealing for anyone of any economical background!

Quality: ðŸŒŸðŸŒŸ

For a store with such a low, low price range, their quality is amazing! They carry a wide range of brands from vintage to more modern brands like H&M, F21 & Topshop and designer brands such as BCBG, Michael Kors, Miu Miu, Enzo Angiolini etc.

Every piece I saw in the store was in great condition with no tears, rips and no stains whatsoever. Even the shoes, were in great condition; I didn't spot a single pair that was falling apart at the seams or chewed up. Most of the shoes, just needed to be simply polished or wiped down or cleaned before a wear. This is truly remarkable because many stores with low prices tend to have horrible shoe quality but Lepoint Value proves you can have good prices and great quality!

Finally, regarding sales and promotions, there are many 50% sales which tend to be seasonal. They don't have set dates, unfortunately but checking in now and then helps.

Overall, Lepoint Value finishes strong with 8 stars!

I would recommend Lepoint Value to someone that doesn't want to spend a lot of money and has a bit of time and patience.  Lepoint Value is one of those stores that really separates people that really put together an outfit and people that just buy things off of mannequins. This store is quite bare and really forces you to put together your own look and fully express your style. Lepoint doesn't market a certain style, but it  gives you the elements to build your own look and the possibilities are endless.

If you're someone that's trying to find your look and your personal style, I would recommend this store to you as a challenge because it'll give you a chance to be express yourself and experiment. Since the prices are so low, it doesn't hurt the pocket much either.
