Next up on my Back To School wishlist is the Shirt Dress. Remember, the key to BTS shopping is comfort. I know they say "Beauty Hurts", but it doesn't have to, not even your wallet. One thing I love about this look is that it can be easily thrifted. You don't have to spend 30-50-100$ on a denim dress when you can find an over-sized denim pullover at your local thrift shop for less than $5.
I love, love, love a Shirt dress because you just slip it on and go and with the right pairings, you look quite chic with minimal effort. That is the key to dress when in school. You can't afford to spend 30 minutes picking up an outfit when your class starts in 15 minutes. I went for a denim shirt dress because it adds an extra level of "omph". Instead of going for the standard cotton or jersey fabric, denim adds an extra level of "coolness" to the look.

Demin Shirt Dress from Warehouse UK.

I'm a big fan of the button-up collar, so this dress is basically right up my alley. It's perfect for Fall weather, just short enough to catch a breeze but long enough that I won't feel a chill at night. Like I mentioned above, this can be easily thrifted. So, you already know I will be at the lookout at the local thrift shops. Paired with the items below, this dress will give you an effortless chic and comfortable look.
Sophie Hulme Burgundy Leather Tote Bag
Every now and then, I come across a piece that makes me almost shed a tear because it's of sheer beauty, and unfortunately, hefty price. This bag is a hefty $1,160 and honey, it was love at first sight. If not for the price, this bag would be perfect tote for this look, but unfortunately its wayyyy past my budget. I'm pretty sure I will be dreaming about this bag tonight. Let's hope it's one of those dreams that actually come true.
Ah, Baggu, we meet again. My first time coming across these bags was during my short retail stint at Urban Outfitters and let me tell y'all, these bags are the truth. Leather totes are a BTS essential. You can shove half your life in them haphazardly and still look like you have it all together. This is definitely a great pick for this look, due to it's functionality and aesthetic.
That rounds off this Back To School Staples post. I hope you're all getting geared up to do some shopping. If not, we're just getting started.
See ya soon!
Love & Light,
Rachel.
