OOTD: Adventures in Emerging Adulthood.

It may be October, but I'm keeping it groovy and colorful as long as I can!

This entire outfit was inspired by this dress. A groovy shift dress is something I generally wouldn't wear but, once I had it, it pushed me to really challenge my personal style.  That's really the best thing about fashion and style..the exploration, trials and even the errors in putting together new looks and exploring different facets of my personal style. It's so much fun!
I turn 21 in less than a month and in furthering that experimentation, I'm trying to take my style into a more adult direction because I'm no longer a kid and I can't dress like one for much longer, even if I want to, haha!
Despite being quite colorful, this is one of my more grownup looks. It's quite interesting for me because very soon, I will be emerging into the adult world and  I am on the verge on building my professional wardrobe. The key is to keep all the funkiness and coolness in my looks but, to look like an fully equipped adult while doing so.
What I love, love, love about this look is that it appealed to my funky side and my emerging adult. It lays a good template for how I need to be dressing in a professional setting but also allows me to stay true to myself.
 The lovely details:
Dress: Maurice's
Shoes: Chadwicks
Coat: London Fog

I'll be sure to keep you all acquainted on my adventures in emerging adulthood! If adulthood is coming straight at you too, let me know what pieces you're adding or omitting from your closet in the comments section below!

Love & Light

Rachel.
